New Parent? We've Got You! Discover our guides on baby hygiene and sterilising.

When it comes to family hygiene, parents want products they can always rely on, no matter what. From protecting children and babies from germs, to keeping their everyday essentials clean and hygienic, the right products need to be comfortable to use as part of daily life.

At Milton, we believe you shouldn’t have to choose between effective hygiene and more thoughtful product choices. Our hygiene range contains plant-based formulas and carefully selected ingredients that you can trust.

In this blog, we explain what parents should want from hygiene products, why ingredient choice does matter, and the natural ingredients found in our Milton hygiene products.

What parents want from hygiene products

Parents want hygiene products that make every day routines feel simpler and more reassuring.

Protecting children from germs

Keeping children protected from germs is a priority for every parent. From cleaning and sterilising baby essentials or maintaining good hygiene around the house, effective products can help reduce the spread of any germs and give parents that peace of mind.

Trustworthy solutions

When choosing hygiene products, parents want to know they can trust what they are using.

For many, that confidence comes from knowing that the ingredients have been thoughtfully considered, with a clear purpose behind each one.

Comfortable using regularly

Hygiene is a part of everyday life, so products should feel comfortable and straightforward to incorporate into regular routines.

For Milton, this balance of protection, reassurance and considered ingredients is at the heart of our range.

Why ingredient choice matters in family hygiene

Ingredients can tell you a lot about a product and, at Milton, ingredient choice is an important part of developing our range.

How our ingredients are derived

We use plant-based cleaning agents across our products, choosing ingredients derived from renewable sources such as corn, wheat and more.

Alternatives to unnecessary substances

Our commitment is also about considering what doesn’t need to be in a formula. We refuse to use dangerous and controversial substances, or formulas with dangerous classifications, including:

  • Quaternary ammonium compounds
  • Petroleum derivatives
  • MIT and MCIT preservatives
  • Colouring
  • Allergenic fragrances
  • Ingredients of animal origin.

Instead, we look to plant-based and well-proven ingredients which can deliver the performance required.

Sustainability

At Milton, we’re committed to making the right choices at every stage of our products. We choose to continuously improve products with a sustainable approach, reducing carbon emissions and working with manufacturing partners with a strong sustainable strategy.

As part of this commitment, our wider goal is to reduce our current global carbon emissions by 35% by 2035.

Our promise is simple: to always provide sustainable and effective products with babies in mind.

Natural ingredients found in milton’s hygiene products

We carefully select our ingredients:

  • Beetroot – We use alcohol derived from beetroot and can be found in our Antibacterial Hand Gel and Antibacterial Surface Wipes.
  • Wheat – A plant-based source used to create ingredients within Milton’s hygiene formulas.
  • Corn – Used as a renewable source for ingredients. Milton’s Antibacterial Surface Spray, for example, contains a 100% plant-based active ingredient derived from corn or beetroot and uses plant-based cleaning agents.
  • Coconut – Another renewable source for plant-based cleaning agents.
